I'm currently working as a the Chief Technology Officer and as a Director at Black Dragon Studios Ltd, I was also part of the founding team. Here I help steer the company's technological needs and aims, as well as working as part of the technical development and technical artist teams on our productions and video games.
Previously I was a Lecturer on the Creative Computer Games Design Programme at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (between April 2013 and August 2018); during that time I have helped to design and build multiple computer labs, worked on several external game projects, researched historical recreation projects and presented at multiple conventions around the UK.
In 2013 I was lead programmer on the mobile game 'Go Candy' which won the British Academy Cymru Award for Games, the Game Design Commendation and the Sound & Music Commendation at the BAFTA Cymru Games Award that year (we were also nominated for the Technical Achievement Commendation); I was also the lead programmer on 'Super Combombo' which was nominated for the Artistic Achievement Commendation for the BAFTA Cymru Games Award.
My skills range from digital sculpting to motion capture, with an ample tour of C++ along the way. I hold both a Bachelors with Honours and a Masters in 3D Computer Animation, but have always spent most of my time in Games Design.
I run the Art Cadre amd work as the senior technical artist helping build life like medical simulations
I design, create, and evaluate technology for Black Dragon Studios and for projects created here.
I'm currently a Lecturer on the BA(Hons) and MArts(Hons) Creative Computer Game Design Programme.
Research associate for the GamesLab Knowledge Transfer Centre (KTC), which was a joint project between the Swansea Metropolitan University (now UWTSD) and the University of Glamorgan (now USW).
I opened a small production studio in Swansea after graduating my Bachelors degree in 2008. The studio closed in 2010 when I returned to university to complete my Masters degree.
